Budget cuts

Andrew and i were talking about money and future stuff planning and budgeting. We approach it differently. I can save pretty good, but i mostly look at life now and see what i need and use only that. He likes to do ROTH and Savings and NO DEBT! i like no debt too...i am not really a huge spender, so we get along good..except we explain things differently and in our head we are thinking the same thing but saying it backwards almost so we get flustered and confused and annoyed. haha we will spend like 40 mins saying stuff and finally we go so i am saying the grass is green, the other is yeah the green grass is what we have....so your saying the same thing?? hahah its crazy

 Anyway we are wanting to live on a tighter budget so i am giving up my Sbux :( we are cutting down our eating out. Which means more preparatory cooking for me....when will i find the time...that is the challenge :) Fun challenge! Sticking to the budget is a challenge with two people but we are up to it!

Any fun stories or advice about budgeting?

Not for the budget but crock pot meals are fabulous for days you don't have time to cook in the evening. I have a good chili recipe and tortilla soup if you want them. Also I grocery shop at the end of the week or the weekend and prepare all the fruits and veggies so they're easy to grab and throw in lunches. A lot of times I also grill and dice chicken to have on hand for quesadillas, nachos or salads.

Me and Billy do the SAME thing. Well be saying the same thing as the other but differently and get all confused. :) Good luck with your budgeting!

We heart Dave Ramsey! :) Also, since I am a visual learner. I made a chart graphing all of our student loans from biggest to smallest, and we are snowballing them. Each time we pay one off I get to color more in of our gauge, and then I get to do a little dance! :) I love goal planning :) Happy budgeting to you two! :)

I agree with Jill about crock pot meals. Eating out used to be the biggest drain on our budget. Planning ahead is the key. We eat out just a couple of times a month now. Love your blogs!

Spooky things afoot

The other night we heard a knock on the door...upon my answering there was no one there...just a plastic pumpkin filled with goodies and two pieces of paper. It said we had been "Booed". Something spooky was going on in our neighborhood and if we didn't want to get it again we were to tape the other picture to our door.    Since i couldn't find tape i used post-it notes...sad i know. haha There was a poem that came with it explaining how you are to make two more buckets/baskets, copy the two papers and pass it on by ding dong ditching them! I asked my neighbor and friend Kati to go with me cause Kimmel was at the football game. It was very exciting and crazy...i had never ding dong ditched...at least that i remember and i think i would remember something that fun! :) If you live in a neighborhood this is a great way to spread fun and get to know each other. What's Next?

This week is the first week of a new schedule for me. I am cutting my 'hours' in half at work. This means i go from the 40 hours a week to 20 in office hours. I am excited to see what God has next for me. As most of you know ministry isn't in an office, but the office time was suffocating me. So now there is freedom, freedom to do what i am not sure just yet. I have mentioned before Andrew and i's desire to minister to our lil townhouse circle, so i am praying for vision and opportunity there. Being domestic and a untired, focused wife to Andrew is another desire of mine. Don't have much to say just yet...i am excited on this new adventure. I will keep you posted as God shows me what the path his he has for us Kimmels :) He is a good God and i am glad He loves me! It is for freedom he set us free. It is for freedom i cut my pay in half :) hahaha

always giggle

Since my sister's wedding when i was in 10th grade i have been in a total 13 weddings, none my own. At one point mom told me i needed to stop saying yes! I actually used two of the dresses twice believe it or not! :) It was a privilege to have girls in my wedding knowing that they trusted and loved me long time ago to be in their wedding and were willing and happy to come be in mine. This fall i have the honor of being in my best friend since 1st grades wedding-Amber, and Andrew's best friend's Kyle- we are both in that one! It is exciting to watch the stories unfold and share in their special day. I was at a shower for Maddie and Kyle's wedding this past weekend and i snapped a picture of this lil centerpiece the hostess had made. I thought it was really sweet and i had to share! One of the annoying thing about 'cute' couples is when they giggle. But its only annoying when you aren't that couple, minus public displace of giggling and such i find that aw...
