Birthday fun!

Friday was Andrew's birthday and he let me surprise him with dinner somewhere special. I found this German restaurant, Edelweiss (like the song) that i heard was really good and fun so i took a chance. Google mapped for directions, we got a little turned around...but we made it. He was really surprised and liked it. The reason i chose this restaurant was cause he spent the first five or six years with his family in Austria. He ordered a Shnitzle, and said he hadn't had one in 14 years. It was delicious! There was a lady and a man all dressed in native dress playing the according and yodeling. It was great. You should check it out!

Sounds like a great place to eat! Great food and entertainment. You are so thoughtful.

Will and I went to eat at a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant downtown Dallas Friday. Dream Cafe- have you heard of it? I walked in and thought, "This is not good . . .", but it turned out great. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere grew on us.

I am glad you had a good time with Andrew.

As mentioned in the last entry of this blog i bragged about how Dad is taking care of me and just making things light and easy and fun for the wedding. Yesterday Andrew and i went and took pictures with a friend of ours. And she took us to the grapevine train station, a field, a strange house, and to the lake where he proposed. We laughed, kissed, hugged, laughed and tried to stay warm. It was so much fun! Ellie was a bit nervous cause the temperature was like in the 50's. But the sun and sky was perfect so she said if we were game she was game. So we did! Ended up with like 200 pics....she wittled them down and gave me 160 some. They are all sooo good...it was hard to pick my fave. I am so thankful for her, her talent and her willingness to do this with us! I may put a link to the folder...but not sure just how....so bear with me! :)

I was curious as to where Valentines day came from and this is what i found. There are varying opinions as to the origin of Valentine's Day. Some experts state that i t originated from St. Valentine, a Roman who was martyred for refusing to give up Christianity. He died on February 14, 269 A.D., the same day that had been devoted to love lotteries. Legend also says that St. Valentine left a farewell note for the jailer's daughter, who had become his friend, and signed it "From Your Valentine". Other aspects of the story say that Saint Valentine served as a priest at the temple during the reign of Emperor Claudius. Claudius then had Valentine jailed for defying him. In 496 A.D. Pope Gelasius set aside February 14 to honour St. Valentine. Gradually, February 14 became the date for exchanging love messages and St. Valentine became the patron saint of lovers. Photo shoot with Mabry Family

This past saturday was my first official photo shoot, meaning not really close friends, was really nervous to do it. Andrew came with me and was my voice of direction. I picked the same spot a friend of ours took our engagement pictures, main street Grapevine. We went a bit early to the spot and marked some places we thought would work, and talked out what positions might be good. With his strong voice he commanded them into spots! :) It was fun and the weather was perfect for it. Andrew had gotten me a new lens in time for the shoot so i was super pumped and so thankful it made it in time. There were a couple times that i forgot to change the setting and was like OH NO! Let's try that again!  I think they like it and are happy with it. A mutual friend has already asked me to take pics of her and her hubby. Now i am just waiting for my label to be created so i can look even more official! This is a fun hobby that i am excited to chase after! Click Here for more pics
