Computer Fun

Image
So Andrew and i purchased our christmas gift to each other this year...an iMac desktop. My Mac died about 2 months ago. I had lil Mac for 8 great years! I was sad to see her go, and i still need to see if i can get the music and info on the hard drive...but we will have to talk to an 'apple genius'. So anyway the other night i was playing around with it all the new perks of the computers and i stumbled upon the photo booth! It was like i was a lil school girl all over again. Let me share... Mirror Fish Bowl Pencil Drawing Something fun! :) Its nice too having a computer that uploads and runs fast! WE are so very thankful for our iMac! This will also help with Andrew and I to be able to work from home some.

Ft Worth Parade of Lights

Image
Last night Andrew and i met up with some friends to watch the Ft Worth parade of lights! I love parades, and crowds of people. Something about it just is exciting. People watching and dodging as everyone fights quietly for the best seats or standing spots. Our friend Paige told us that the white seats on the actual curb or even the road could be reserved and purchased for $20 bucks each. By the end of the parade i wish we had bought some :) maybe next time. I hope this is a tradition that this Kimmel family can keep :) Our friends the Langford's Daniel and Paige Houston Street After the Parade the tired crew, us Langfords and Lefils! Thanks for the chairs! We watched from here as they sang 12 days of christmas then lit the Huge chirstmas tree!!

New Moon

For those of you who do not know about the Twilight Saga you are probably not around any females between the age of 12-22. I have a friend who is 42 who read each book with in like one day! She loves the story, and just gets lost in it. I went with her on opening night to see the first on (Twilight) and said i would see each one opening night with her. No mind you i have not read any of the books and had a friend tell me the WHOLE story on a long drive out to a friends wedding. So i sorta know what is going on and how things end but alot of the details i just don't know. So last thursday night Sherry and i went to the opening night. Each screen was showing this movie, New Moon. Its incredible how may girls were there! I enjoy watching movies with a crowd that responds truly and loudly. So of course when Jacob takes off his shirt for the first time there were awes and oo's going on...it made me laugh. And to the directors credit it was not over the top and i never felt awkward!!

So today is Andrew's Bday!!! On Thursday we celebrated with our friends, Baloghs and Anderson's by playing hand and foot and praying for the Anderson's before their "honeymoon" to anitiqua! His childhood friend Bob came over and they headed off to play an indoor game. When i asked andrew if they won he said no, but it was so much fun, i got to assit two goals and it was really physical and great to play! He was so happy! :) Today we cooked bfast, opened some gifts, went to Sports Authority to get another gift, walmart and lunch. Now relaxing in the bedroom flipping from football and the antique roadshow! Maybe a movie in a few. He loves resting so not much is going on...dinner tonight with some friends. If you know andrew you know how loving and sweet he is! I am very thankful for him!! Last week he got to go to Cowboys' new stadium..this is him touching the star! :)

Oh Wednesday

So every wednesday is pretty much the same. Wake up get to sbux at 8am and visit with Niki, my friend and mentor. We talk about everything and share advice and worries. Its a great start to the day! She is a pastors wife and has been meeting with me for like almost 5 years now. We have grown in to good friends and i like it! Then i head to the office and hit the computer, for emails, remember the milk, and whatever else. Followed by running thru my head what do i need to do to set up for wednesday night. It is our big night of the week. Before our intern that came around about 4 months ago setting up chairs was my mid morning duty. It was ok with music on and sometimes i prayed to keep my mind going. Then next is a school lunch, then eat lunch, and back around 2 to get technical stuff ready. Media shout slides for songs and teachers. Its a great day...sometimes it feels super busy and others super slow. But no matter how the wednesday turns out it ends with 4 hours of fun spent with st

After...

I am exhausted. A good exhausted you know. The girls retreat from my point of view went really well. The schedule felt packed and good, yet lots of time for hanging out and getting to know each other. The speaker had a great report with the girls, they all like her and she taught scripturally walking them thru some great passages. I was very thankful for Cammi's talent and heart. She was great to have around to teach the girls! My friends who did the break out sessions ROCKED!! The girls thought they were all practical and helpful. So i am praying that those hands on activities will mark their brains and keep them focused on Jesus! They worked really hard at the Fall Festival our church throws for our 'Judea'. Doing all sorts of carnival games and maning the inflatables. We pray that the community was blessed and excited about that. Friday night we did something really fun! Cammi had recipes for face scrub, hand scrub and toner. We asked the girls upon arriving to wash off

Sad But True

Image
Some of you know that i am a nut when it comes to surfing or anything related. So i was super stoked when there was an app on the iphone for surf reports. It was free and i quickly downloaded it and was totally engrossed for hours checking out spots and thinking how beautiful it must be there or how sad that it is flat today. Now some of you may not know that for my 30th bday i given a trip by Dad to go to Hawaii with two friends. I call this my midlife crisis year cause i never dreamed my life would look like it did at the age of 30, i mean really single and just met someone who could possilby be my one and only yet i was so tattered from past relationships i was freaking out too much to breath...so Hawaii is what the doctor ordered. One of the great things about having a december bday is that Pipeline Masters goes on in Dec. So my two friends and i got on standby and went to the surf haven. I got to see all the famous names like Occy, Kelly, Pat, Curren, and Rob and some of my faves

where the wild things die

Image
So Andrew and i went and saw "where the wild things are" and we were grossly disappointed. I grew up reading the book and enjoyed it, very light hearted and funny from what i remember. Movie not so much! It was a very dark, lonely, sad story about a boy who had some deep issues and no resolution. As far as cinematography it was lovely, well acted, well done wild things but the whole story line was just too abstract and dark for me. It is not a kids movie, so don't even think about it. :) hhahaah if you like artsy, abstract movies than go for it. otherwise don't go!
