Dedication

Image
Sunday we had baby dedication at our church. We were excited to do this for two reasons. Firstly we had asked many of our church friends to pray with us and ask for a baby when we were having our losses. We wanted to share our lil blessing with them all and see the answer to their prayers. Secondly we do dedicate to love and raise Shepherd to know and seek God. I love how pastor Bob says its about the parents and us making the statement of leading our kids and asking others to walk along side with us to lead them to the cross. We are so thankful for our lil bundle! My sister gave us the sweet lil sailor outfit for this special day! He looks so cute it was fun making him wear it. Thanks Debbie! :) My friend Kari snuck some pictures and video while we were up there! THANK YOU SO MUCH Kari! :) My mom came in for the weekend to see the Dedication and just to spend some time with the lil man. Kimmel's family came over after and we enjoyed a delicious dinner with everyone

I saw a picture of this book from a friend on Instagram and got very excited. It was a book from one of the most gifted teachers i have heard, Matt Chandler. We invited him to speak for our youth events when i worked at the church and it was never a dull lesson. Our students always took something to heart from him. His church is about an hour from us and so we listen to his podcasts often. Kimmel and i have gone to a satellite church of his and just always feel God's presence and wisdom. So i jumped on Amazon and found it. It took about a week to get it cause it was back ordered, i guess it is really popular. Thought i would let you know its out there and you should read it too! I am into the first chapter and its awesome so far! Shedding light on God is never a bad thing right? :)

Date night- Anniversary

Image
I love anniversaries and think they should be special. Sometimes the cash flow affects this but we make the most of it! The last two we did special big things and this year we kept it really simple and sweet.  We started out at Mr. Jim's Pizza for dinner! This place is very special to Kimmel and has great pizza! lol So we took Shepherd there and visited with Todd.  Then we headed to bear creek where we talked about some family stuff and things we were thankful for. We picked out the verse we are going to use for Shepherd at baby dedication next weekend. Then spent some time taking pictures with a fun sun burst in the back....i love doing that. We only had my phone so they are kind of not that great....but fun still!  It was a great evening relaxing and enjoying each other. We came home and ended the night watching our favorite show...Castle! They are really draggin us along with this love story....it needs to happen!! :)  What anniversary has been your fa

3 years!

Image
Today is our anniversary!  Three years of God's provision.  Three years of getting to know more and more about the other.  Three years of fun!  Three years of strengthening losses. Three years of greatness!  Wait only 3? that is a little number! I wonder how much more we will learn and walk thru as that number grows! I am delighted in what God has given us so far, can't wait for the next things :)

Dr. Visit

Image
We have begun the multiple doctor visits for Shepherd. The ones where you hold your child down and they get stuck in both legs and hence scream at the top of their lungs! Yea those. Things start out normal, with the stripping him down so they can weigh him, measure his length and check temperature. He is now 23 inches long, 13lbs and normal temperature. After this the nurse leaves and we wait for the dr. Me holding him only in a diaper. He was doing great just looking all around and then i hear the dreaded noise. Blow out! It was the liquidyist bowel i have ever seen on him. It came up the back of his back while he was sitting in my lap...so i guess you know where i am going with this... This is after i wiped the yuck off...it look like i wet or threw up on myself! It was so laughable! Thankfully by the time we leave the dr office they were dry.  After the dr checked him and all is normal we wait for the nurse to bring the shots. Now i don't know if i prepared myself f

Date night- The Claw

Image
This week we pulled "take a roll of quarters and play a claw game and see who can win a prize". So Kimmel grabbed some quarters and we headed out to dinner and the claw. He knew of one at Walmart so we had a plan. A friend had given us a gift card to Olive Garden when we had Shepherd, and his parents just gave us one they didn't want, so we were able to eat freely and enjoy a nice dinner. Neither of us won anything (shocking i am sure) but it was fun. Wasn't exactly free but a silly idea! Its funny to watch our personalities on these dates. Kimmel was like a kid in a candy store and i had to be forced to waste i mean play another quarter, and these games are no longer 25 cents they are 50! lol Good times, good food and fun with my hubby.

2 months

Image
Its been two months since we welcomed Shepherd into our family. He lights up our hearts and faces. He is now moving and grooving, always in motion unless asleep. Pumping his arms and kicking his legs. It is fun to watch him try and talk, the different shapes his mouth makes and his eyes as they light up when he is trying. He is tracking more things now and curiously looks at all different things. Sometimes i can't figure out what he caught We do tummy time and blanket time. He seems to like them both, yet sometimes it tuckers him out and he just falls asleep right there! Our lil man is a blessing and we are thankful!
