Lunch with my hubby!

Image
Fridays are my days off and i like to spend lunch time with Andrew. Thankfully his school allows visitors and we get to eat at his desk together :0 Its fun to put faces with all the names and stories. He has this one super cool history teacher who dresses up in historical clothing everyday, i can't even begin to explain it all to you but he has a different outfit every day of the whole school year! That takes dedication and talent! Andrew told me today he said its hard for kids to remember facts of history but they remember stories much better. He is like a  walking story its pretty cool.  Andrew has his own desk, laptop and port. He is pretty official! He is totally cool and super stoked about work! He is also coaching after school, i am not sure exactly everything that encompasses...but i know its one step closer in his mind to the dream spot as soccer coach. I am proud of him! He makes me smile for so many reasons! He's a keeper!!! :) haha Have you hugged your husband today?

week not planned

This past week was something i didn't plan or ever hope for. Last thursday during staff retreat i started cramping in the abdominal area...pretty abnormally...went to the er ...andrew left school and got there right when i was being admitted at 10ish...spent all afternoon testing prodding and found something on my ovary...it was burst and i was internally bleeding...so at 8:30 i was in the surgery room having it removed laposcopicly...is that how you spell it? ;) by midnight andrew and i were checking out, heading home. Spent the weekend recovering which was weird in itself cause no one tells you about all the quirky things that happens to your body with all those meds and stuff. The worst one was the constipation that came from it. one word people "stoolsofteners'' ( i know its not one word its a partial quote from a movie) man oh man...if you have had surgery and your surrounding family made you eat and drink things that were nasty to help you recover and you by pas

Back to School

So its that lovely time of year again when the leaves start to change, a crispness is in the air ...well at least back east that is starting to happen but here in texas its just HOT! Hit 90's yesterday and probably will all week. :( The one thing that is consistent about this time of year through out the states is school starts again! Another year of books and learning. Another year of students playing cool and trying to win the popular vote. Another year of heartaches and fun. Another year of hiding stuff from your parents. Another year to love on students as they struggle between flesh and spirit. I like school and i love students so i am looking forward to it. Andrew is starting is first year as an official teacher!! :) he is excited as am i! Today all of the teachers from his district are coming to our church for convocation and its all hands on deck. So i am at the church 7am ready to go! hahaahah Its a neat opportunity for our community. Thanks dad for hooking that up!

ISFJ

So you know how face-book has all those silly lil test and quizzes. Well i finally broke down and took one. ha-ha It was the myers brigs one. I have taken it before but i don't remember what my results were. So today i got Introverted, Sensing, Feeling and Judgement. So there you go :) Do you agree with that result?

Cheerleading Fun

Image
This past week has been our church's sports fun arts camp. Its where we offer sports and arts to kids from preschool up to 5th grade. Its alot of fun and covers the whole campus of our church as well as ISMS just down the street. We offer all the sports from golf to football and of course cheerleading :) i have been the coach for this the past 3 years. Its fun and i always get teen girls to help me but this year i recruited in the real thing! I came to the realization that being out of cheerleading for 10plus years i am a little behind in knowing what is 'in' for cheering now. I sometimes wonder at football games why they do what they do but it is they way they do it now. So i asked one of our girls here from KHS to get a crew of cheerleaders to lead it. 5 ended up coming for the week and its been great! I asked them to wear their cheer outfit to take picks in, cause every lil girl thinks cheerleaders are the bomb and we love to dress up! :) Tonight is the finally and i thi

HE PASSED!! :)

We are very proud to say that Andrew passed his education test, which now enables him to be hired full time! We are very thankful for the opportunity that God has placed him in. He is at his old middle school and is very excited! Say a thank you prayer for us cause we are very thankful for God's provision! We look forward to a new and interesting year! :)

Nasty Feet

So last week our students had a week of community outreach. We worked at a Senior Center in Haltom City, helping 'build' a park designed specifically for seniors. It is a new design and only one other in the world, in England. So supposedly its a big deal :) . About 30ish of our students went there monday thur thursday to plant flowers, trees, shrubs, level out mulch, and start a garden area for them. It was hard work and rainy which actually is alot better than 100 degree weather so we were very thankful! The other 30ish stayed in the plex, sorted out bags of school supplies, cleaned around the church and went door to door to get people to take the bags cause we only recieved about 180 and we need like 400 more done! Its been a huge undertaking with out huge results, this needs to be rethinked :) Then on wednesday and thrusday this same group of students went to a camp at a community storehouse. It was a summer day camp for elementary children who got nominated by teachers and
