Ephesians 3:14-21

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen My reading for this morning....wanted to share

time recorded

I couple of posts ago i mentioned that i was doing a time audit for work. Last time i heard the word audit was back in college during my accounting classes! Its a not fun word. So i was a little nervous or worried or whatever you describe it. So i opened and excel file and begun recording from the moment my alarm went off til i laid my head back down that night. It was interesting and kind of fun...but i did wonder if my time was being filled with what the boss man wanted. I have since finished and he has not addressed anything about it so no news is good news yes? :) Time is precious. Time slips away from you too. Sometimes we fill it with good stuff and sometimes its bad stuff. Sometimes its just a matter of selfishness or godliness, which do we choose at this moment to satisfy. God is the only one that gives us living water of satisfaction for eternity. That is the most amount of time anyone can give or get! Spend your time wisely!

Last night Kimmel and i got to go camping with our friend's whose parents live on the lake. She wanted to take her small group girls out there eat smores, hot dogs, and campers pie! So GOOD!! She asked us to tag a long! So we did and it was so nice! We left our home around 5 and got to her parents house at 6ish with traffic and waiting for the girls to get dropped off. We put the tent up and two of the girls went kayaking...i said it kayaking...too cold for me but the loved it! Her dad had started the fire in the lil fire thingy and the grill so when we were ready the dogs went on the sticks, then the smores, and campers pie! Andrew and her husband fished off their pier and we ended the night watching transformers 2 ...pretty good. Please be in awe of the creation i got to capture below :)

He's not finished with me yet...

There is a Brandon Heath song that i heard at this concert sunday night that has just sat on my heart since and this morning while listening brought tears to my eyes. Right now i have a couple friends that are dealing with some deep hurts and struggles and i hurt for them. One has been let down by people, one is hurt by family and doesn't know what step to take next love them or leave them, another is let down by her health and can't figure out why. I listen and truly wish i could help heal or fix or yell at the right people! I beg for clarity, forgiveness, comfort for each in their own needs. "There is hope for me yet Because God won’t forget All the plans he’s made for me I have to wait and see He’s not finished with me yet" " Still wondering why I’m here Still wrestling with my fear But oh, He’s up to something And the farther on I go I’ve seen enough to know That I’m, not here for nothing He’s up to something" He is not finished yet...no matter where we

This past sunday night Andrew and i went to the concert above with some of our friends and had a blast. It was pretty incredible to see three very talented and lovely groups make an obvious effort to put Jesus at the center of their tour! The name of the tour was based off a song that Leeland and Brandon sing together. Talking about Following God where the poor and needy are. The began the night with two worship songs with all artist on the stage. Setting from the start that they was not one better than the other that God is the reason they live and sing. After each artist had played a small set they took a break to talk about "food for the hungry" organization that does more than just hand outs for those in third world countries. Pretty amazing and humble! I can't stop listening to Leeland, their words are just medicine to my weary spirit! If you have not heard them PLEASE check them out!!! It will minister to you! They are all on itunes, or i put the sites below! www.le

Trip Home

So last thursday Andrew and i flew out to Va to visit with my family for a quick visit. It was really nice and we had fun but it flew by like our plane ride :) hahaa. My sister has four kids from age 12 to 4 years old. We got to spend a couple days in their lives, watching soccer games, playing video games or swashbuckleing! It was stupendous and we can't wait to go back in December! My sister helped me entertain my history loving husband with two 'tours' of history. The first was to the Edgar Allen Poe museum. It was a quiant little house next to shockobottom in Richmond. Max was too cute just asking questions about the old stuff...and trying to touch things that were barred off :) Then Deb took us to St. John's church. If you don't know that is the church that Patrick Henry said the famous line "give me liberty or give me death!" There was a man there that did the talking in reenactment clothing...it was quite interesting! On saturday he said they were

Time Audit

So i am doing a time audit for my boss here at work, and by boss i mean executive pastor. To check up on the youth minister to see how i spend my time in the office. I really don't mind it cause i don't play around too much here in the office....but i find my self wondering will this meet his expectations. Does he have in his mind exactly what he thinks my job should consist of or not. I was telling Andrew last night that this week was a bum one to check cause we leave tomorrow to go to VA and we are there until saturday night...so all the student events i usually go to i am not this weekend...so i am putting and addendum of the past two weeks that were filled to the brim with stuff....i don't want to get let go cause i am not a good student pastor...:) Oh and i have a hard time deciding whether i should say student pastor or youth pastor...cause in the church world everyone sorta knows what student pastor means but outside that world people are like 'when will you get

One great and crazy day!

Saturday was a busy day for us kimmels. We started at 7am to head out to our Home Makeover project our church does. Its the third year now and we have a blast with it. There are four families that get chosen from the school we work with in Haltom City and we come in like the tv show and paint, build and decorate the houses...its fun! It keeps growing and changing for the better. We stayed there til 1 and took some boys from andrew's group back to their homes and we rested for an hour...then headed off to the KHS homecoming game...really good times...but they lost...i won't type that out cause it was really sad :( that ended like 640ish we ran to mcdonalds and back to the school for a play at 8pm. Couple of andrew's boys were in it so it was fun to see them act and show off their talent! Play was 'Noises off!' really great play! Got into bed at 11pm. It was a fun full day!

new web radio!

So i often listen to the morning show on a local R&B station. Steve Harvey is the big name dj with 3 cohosts, they seem to get along really well and they make me smile in the mornings it's nice. They have great guests that come and hang out or either talk on the phone with them, i like it. So i sometimes link to their website to listen live through out the day cause its nice and chill. One day as i was sitting at my desk i heard "k104praise.com" and they just kept saying that and had some clips of songs, mary mary, kirk franklin, lecrae and many others that i didn't know. So i clicked on the sight and i love it! Click listen now and it streams in all this great gospel and praise music all day! Really diggin it and you should check it out! www.k104praise.com

Homecoming 09!!

Image
Its homecoming at Keller this week, and i am super excited! :) There are four students of ours who are on the homecoming court! It is awesome to see the students that strive after christ to be recognized by their peirs and loving (popular) haha We know three of the boys and one of the girls. The girl Courtney has been dear to my heart since her 7th grade year. She is beautiful inside and out. It was fun to watch her ride the car and wave to the lil kids! So proud!!! :) Forgive the darkness of this picture...i couldn't figure the camera out at first and the cars were first sorry....but this is Courtney and Riley. The proud football moms :) Us The Steifles. Sweet family that i have known for 8 years. They used to help with youth and as their boys grew they stepped down. But we keep in touch and have fun together! The boys bags were full of candy from the students in the parade. Andrew kept giving Luke candy and when we left he told him 'You rock! thanks for all the candy!"

Friend's Baby!!

So lil miss Chloe Dell Jones came into the world today, and i was privileged enough to be with the family as we oohed and ahhhed over her precious face and screams as she got her first bath. Her 'big brother' Brock did such a good job this morning...it was an early and long one for him! It is fun to watch as their world changes and we are excited to see what is next. I am thankful everyone is healthy!
