Flash Play

Image
One thing i would love to know more about is using my off camera flash in doors. Shepherd and i had some fun....he played and i snapped some shots. His concentration face is probably one of my favorites....he makes duck lips and scowls his brow...so cute!  Bath time is finally fun for him. He gets excited when we turn the water on now and squeals. This is one of the things i looked forward to as a mom...silly i know but i remember loving baths and was excited to share that with my kids :) So lots of fun floaty toys and stuff to play with. He likes to splash sometimes, and of course to pull up and stand...now that he can thats what he likes best!  Still working on the flash so i guess i will have to take more pictures of him. :)

No complaints and thankful heart

It has been almost 3 months since kimmel and i moved in with his parents. Its funny how that simple act has taught me so much about myself, Kimmel and family. Living two families in a single family home goes against the american dream and my mindset. I think that is the first hurtle i had to jump over. There are other cultures and places that live multiple families in smaller homes and they get along just fine :) One of my good friends and her twins just moved in with her hubby's parents and they love it and may stay forever! haha The arrangement is awesome and any issues or annoyances i have can be swept away when i think about why we did this. We cannot be more thankful for the support of his parents in this venture, we couldn't have done it with out them. This is what is needed to do in order for our dream home to be built.  There were a couple things that i had to get used to in a short span of time. Obviously moving from a home to two rooms challenged my way of thin

Modge Podge the craft i never knew about!

I don't consider myself a 'crafty' person. My first instinct is not to make whatever it is i need/want. I look for discounts! Thankfully i have been given a couple friends who are crafty and i steal their ideas or get taught by them.  This year i have been introduced to Modge Podge by Kelli and i am addicted! She had a crafty night last month with the girls from our cell and our friends. She sweetly opened her craft table, dinning table and toys for us all to rip or cut scrapbook paper for our canvases.  This was my first creation! The paper was so fun and cute it was easy to match and cut. She has a cricut to cut out letters, so naturally i did a k for our home.  Armed with this new knowledge i headed off to hobby lobby with a mission. I had a gift card and i intended to use it all! Got a couple canvases, a think of scrapbook paper and modge podge glue. Pondered for several weeks about what to do and came up with two ideas, one a gift for my long time mentor

I haven't blogged since the last month update for Shepherd...wooops :( Started watching my niece again during the week and i don't think i have gotten into a rhythm yet to do other things for myself yet.  This month has a specialness to it. My mom saved on of my father's outfits from when he was little and its appropriate that Shepherd fits it this month because my Dad's birthday was in August and he passed away in September of '89. I was excited we were able to wear it this month.  Did our owl growth picture...not laying down cause he is so movey now :) Borrowed an awesome firetruck pedal car from my friend Kelli! TOTALLY AWESOME!  And yes everything goes into the mouth... He pulled himself up the other day! Loves cruising still around the furniture, sorta like crawling definitely getting better at it.  Sounds like he is making more words and sounds but no actual words.  Trying more and more different foods...gag reflex is a wor
