Disciple Now

Image
So its late thursday night...or at least it feels it, 10pm and its been a long full day of preparation for DNOW. We had our concert night tonight with Pocket Full of Rocks. That is the kick off night. We are super excited they are here...we had them 3 years ago and they just usher you into the presence of God and set you down, or raise your hands to worship HIM. It was great night. I got do do the ProPresenter (fancy powerpoint) back stage, in our huge sanctuary, where all the computers for cameras, lights and ProPresenter are stashed. It was fun and a tiny bit stressful cause i was helping in BIG CHURCH. Haha but it was fun and a new adventure! This will be my 6 or 7 dnow with NorthWood and i worked at like 3 others outside our church. It is an amazing high energy weekend that our students look forward too. Almost like the 'fix' until camp. Each year gets a bit easier cause it is a well oiled machine that runs itself once it gets going! Pray for our students, speaker -Ryan Da

Coach Kimmel- Liverpool

Image
Andrew has received a fun opportunity to coach lil boys age 5 and 6 in a 'academy' soccer club. It is run by an old Liverpool player from the UK. It takes quite a lot of his time and energy so some days he isn't sure he will continue after this season, but he is sticking it thru this season! This picture was taken at practice...with my iphone so its bad..but you can kind of see the lil peeps and andrew :) Maybe one day we will have a nice camera :o but until then... This next picture was after the game on sunday....their lil team worked really hard to play against a team that was actually a year older than them...its amazing how much more advantage just one lil year has on them! They played really well and no angry parents this time so that was really nice! Andrew almost lost his voice cause he was yelling so hard :) Mom and i made it and enjoyed the day, game and watching him work :)

Weekend with mom :)

So thursday night i picked up Mom from the airport. We stopped off and watched Andrew coach his lil team of 6 year olds for a bit then headed home to cook dinner. We mostly hung out and didn't do much of anything. It was nice. We woke up 'late' on saturday cooked breakfast, then after loafing around headed to the mall to grab lunch and shop a bit. Mom likes to buy us some things cause she isn't around much to get us stuff thru the year, so we found some great deals and got a few fun things! We took advantage of the free pretzels' from Auntie Anne's to top of the afternoon! Headed out to a local church to hear a sermon with Cowboy player, Whitten that ended up being a video interview...but he is Andrew's fave so we too a chance....then headed to our church to open doors for the lil peeps to view the new Veggie Tales movie....dinner back home and Dessert with the in laws! Its fun having both parents together...we all get along and its nice! Even though sunday

What's Next?

This week is the first week of a new schedule for me. I am cutting my 'hours' in half at work. This means i go from the 40 hours a week to 20 in office hours. I am excited to see what God has next for me. As most of you know ministry isn't in an office, but the office time was suffocating me. So now there is freedom, freedom to do what i am not sure just yet. I have mentioned before Andrew and i's desire to minister to our lil townhouse circle, so i am praying for vision and opportunity there. Being domestic and a untired, focused wife to Andrew is another desire of mine. Don't have much to say just yet...i am excited on this new adventure. I will keep you posted as God shows me what the path his he has for us Kimmels :) He is a good God and i am glad He loves me! It is for freedom he set us free. It is for freedom i cut my pay in half :) hahaha

Kimmel's Surprise

So today is valentines day and i sit at my computer so thankful for the man in my life. He is out playing with his boys right now....just getting that good guy time. Yesterday i didn't think i would be so happy about it. It has been a emotional couple days and when he mentioned that they had planned this i was kind of like 'on valentine's day?...Ok??' We already celebrated last night with dinner out Texas Roadhouse (his fave) and playing sequence (my fave) to just enjoying being with each other relaxing night. We didn't get gifts or cards...and by the end of the night i was kind of sad about it...So sunday routine, church at 8 (ish) am, set up for stuff, do things, go to service at 11am head to his mom's for family lunch. This morning was the same, the only difference was Andrew had run a couple of errands when he said 'I am going to get the spare tire back from Jake i will be back in time for MORE.' Unsuspecting me was like ok see ya. Until we got to

Snow Fun 2010

Image
So just like the rest of the east coast we have been blessed with random snow that is not expected. This past thursday it snowed all day here in Keller, Tx. The weathermen couldn't predict the 8 inches of snow we got...none the less we got it and its was beautiful! It wasn't the normal icy freak out texas snow that we get it was nice legit snow that doesn't cause much havoc unless you freak out on the roads! It was lovely! Andrew and i didn't get to play much thursday or friday due to work and my surgery...so this morning we took advantage of what was left :) i place a video below to share...hope you enjoy!

Beautiful

This morning as andrew and i drove to work, we got to share a beautiful pink purplish sunrise. It was unlike any i had seen before. Just causing us to sit in awe of God once again. I don't think it was a mistake that as i was holding andrew's iphone i shuffled the songs to Phil Wickahm's song Beautiful. It was like a moment put together by God for us to start our morning off with Him. Just in Awe and feeling His love...if you haven't heard this song before or know who Phil is go check him out NOW! :) the song is listed below. Beautiful- Phil Wickham I see Your face in every sunrise The colors of the morning are inside Your eyes The world awakens in the light of the day I look up to the sky and say You’re beautiful I see Your power in the moonlit night Where planets are in motion and galaxies are bright We are amazed in the light of the stars It’s all proclaiming who You are You’re beautiful, You're beautiful I see you there hanging on a tree You bled and then you di

Marital Bliss...

Image
Its been 9.5 months since andrew and i said i do. Its been really great and challenging and i want more! haha Its funny cause as you know if you are married, marriage is a bit different then what you picture or think in your mind. Having watched my friends while i was single, and their honesty with me about marriage helped, but still you have a rose colored view of it and when you get into it its better and different the you imagined. We have a couple friend who have been married for 15 years and had a desire to start a 'small group' of just married couples. They asked us and 3 other couples to come once a month so they could discuss and help us in our first years so that when we get to year 15 we won't be like 'wish i had known that earlier'. Each week we 'test' ourselves on something and then we have homework from that. The couples are all early 20's and longest married is year in a half, and shortest is 6 months. We all come from different walks in li

Veggie and Fruit Co-OP

So my new adventure in cooking is joining a veggie and fruit co-op! We got our first package yesterday and it was like christmas time for me all over!! I am splitting it with my friend in the neighborhood and this is what we EACH got...2 fresh tomatoes, head of lettuce, leek, spaghetti squash, kiwi, bag of oranges, bag of potatoes, 4 apples each, broccoli we split, 12 bananas we split, something i don't know what it is...and i think thats it :) I ate a FRESH salad last night, made one for today, looked up recipes on the spaghetti squash and leeks. The freshness of them is amazing! The kiwi is, as andrew said, PERFECT! I am excited to cook and develop my cooking skills :) It is so nice knowing that you are paying $25 for fresh straight from the farm veggies and fruits! Its almost as exciting as if i grew them! haha If you have any great recipes for the things mentioned please share :)
