Friends

Image
It seems funny to me, how some days i feel like i don't have any friends. It must be a lie that satan whispers and i believe. Cause i have lots of friends, that truly care. There are friends all over the states and here that i couldn't replace or dream of ever doing so. It has been difficult for me the past few years as i continued to be single and in the same cycle of life as my friends one by one passed me on the track. It was a lonely spot, some times i dont' think handled it very well. I have two friends that walked with me thru that here in tx, & one in GA. Their advice an encouragment is priceless to me. People say that "God doesn't give you more than you can handle." The timing of Andrew definitely hit when i no longer could handle it. Andrew has become my 'best' friend as they say. Someone who i have to talk to each day. He is the friend i must call when good, bad or funny things happen. One of the fun things of dating your best friend you

wedding weekend whirwind

So my mom flew in this past thursday night so she could be apart of as much of the wedding planning as possible. So thanks to Dad my wedding dress fitting was this friday afternoon. So friday morning we drove out to the place we are getting married (www.parsonstable.net) so she could see that and i could put the down payment. Then after lunch we went to my fitting....I was so excited to put it on again and i loved it even more! (if that is possible) :) Picked out the veil....felt like a princes.. :) Had dinner with the Kimmel's an watched Hancock. Saturday was chill, and she picked out her faves from the engagement pics...lunch with some friends, then up at the church all night for the childcare fireproof movie. Sunday tried to get Andrew's suit but have to go back tuesday. The guy was really great and i think if it follows thru we will get it for a steal. Today mom and i will meet with my friend Keri to talk flowers. Then the cake lady is tonight. Andrew will be going with us.

Dad's lil gift of Chipotle

So today i had a hankerin for Chipotle! The yummy corn salsa, guacamole, chips and tortillas. So i finished setting up the chairs for wednesday night and i thought to myself i am gonna get some. I walk into Dustin's office let him know i was going there and wondered if he wants me to pick him up some? He says yes and writes down what he wants. So i get in my car...walk in and i see a friend from church. We small talk, order our meals, and as she is checkin out and she hands the register a coupon and the girl is like which ones...and my friend points to hers, her friends, and my order....i was like wait what? and the register lady was like ok, and you get 4 guacamole with chips. FREE!!! :) It was so nice to get a gift from above. Little it may be, but so nice! Just like everyone, i live on a budget. Have special days when i purchase breakfast only. Some days i bring food from home and NO spending money at all. He also provided lunch for me yesterday! YIPEE!!!' Thanks Dad! :)

Movies and kissing God's way ;)

So our church is showing the movie, 'FireProof' this saturday night. We already have like 1000 couples signed up to come and watch. Meaning there is a massive amount of children that will be watched by the youth department! 200 as of now! But i digress. We we mocking the movie saying that this one isn't as bad as the other 'christian' films. Why is it that 'we' produce poor movies. Is it we haven't sold our soul for it. Or we settle for mediocer. God is a creative god we should be gaining creativity by tapping into him. I don't know. One thing i did hear that was really cool about Kurt Cameron while making this movie. Was that he had made a promise with his wife to never kiss anyone else for a movie part. NEVER. So they staged the kiss with his real wife and made it so you couldn't really tell who he was kissing. Now that I like! Nice job Camerons! I hear it is really good...i wish i could see it but i will be playing with the kids. If you haven

gone...

...so andrew leaves today for a ski trip with a family from our church and like 3 of his good friends. They are driving up to colorado today and coming back on tuesday. Its sad cause i couldn't even think about joining them cause work has some times in the year when you CAN NOT take off, and jan happens to be one of them. So anyway. I am a little sad. Hope he has fun. I am going to SLEEP!!! hahaha

As mentioned in the last entry of this blog i bragged about how Dad is taking care of me and just making things light and easy and fun for the wedding. Yesterday Andrew and i went and took pictures with a friend of ours. And she took us to the grapevine train station, a field, a strange house, and to the lake where he proposed. We laughed, kissed, hugged, laughed and tried to stay warm. It was so much fun! Ellie was a bit nervous cause the temperature was like in the 50's. But the sun and sky was perfect so she said if we were game she was game. So we did! Ended up with like 200 pics....she wittled them down and gave me 160 some. They are all sooo good...it was hard to pick my fave. I am so thankful for her, her talent and her willingness to do this with us! I may put a link to the folder...but not sure just how....so bear with me! :)

Wedding planning...

If you notice i put a little ticker on the side. Just so i can watch and remind myself it is soon! It sometimes feels really far away. But i think like school it comes quicker than you expected. I am very thankful that the planning and gather of 'stuff' has been easy so far. Already ordered my dress, got the bridesmaids dresses for $40, the place the ceremony will take place and our officiate, Andrew's dad! I am also very thankful Andrew likes to be apart of the planning process. He is super sweet and has ideas for him and his guys that goes really well with my stuff. Its nice. My friends from out of state and country are already purchasing tickets and planning their time to come out here for the wedding! Andrew and I are thankful that God has allowed our paths to cross and are excited to start a life together! So i just wanted to share my thankfulness! :)

2009 celebration

Its 2009! Crazy eh? Remember that Prince song "gonna party like its 1999"...well we are ten past that now....time flies! This new year was spent with my fiance and great friends. Began with the Air Force game at TCU. One of our students from NSM was the kicker and it was his last game ( he is graduating). So the Jones's and his family were there tailgaiting and enjoying the cool day in the stands. After a nice afternoon nap Andrew and i met up with our friends Kyle and Maddie for a celebratory dinner at Shady Oak. Then to the Jones's for hours of 'loaded questions' and watching the ball drop and the Big D NYE 09 :) Good times!
