Thanks to some really great friends Andrew and I had a shower on Saturday that was really fun and we received some great gifts! So one of my favorite things about Andrew is his love for hats. I think he looks very handsome in them...just so cute! One of our favorite movies is 'the man from snowy river' :) When we were in Colorado he went into this leather shop slash cool hat store and bought himself an awesome hat! :) Now he is my man from snowy river :) hahah cute eh???

Examen.me

So i don't know if you have noticed or not the new green button to the right of this screen or not but i am going to tell you about it. One of my friends has made an online bible study site. You create an account and it keeps journals and examens that you do. You can do an old testament examen or an new testament examen or pic any scripture and journal about that. Its really great. I wish that if you read this please click on the green link and read about it yourself...you don't have to sign up but would be great if you did and just see for yourself. Its really great the prompt questions and prayers. I think you would like it. www.examen.me

Here the city manager spoke to all the volunteers that had helped out with the Historic Park. Boy Scout troop...and other volunteers. We were the biggest group and only church. This is our group around the plaque they made for the historical park that we helped build. Our picture and name is on this lovely thing...only trouble is we popped it off the stand before we left..it was just the 'draft' one. Andrew was wearing the same shirt this year as the one in the picture on the sign...kind of funny! :) Isn't he so handsome!! oh yeah! <3 :)

back home and thankful for provision from Dad

So i am back home from colorado. It was a fun time...hard working and exhausting but oh so good! Seeing Kevin, Amy, Ashley and Ben was good! They are all such great people and i wish i could spend more time with them! The students seemed to get along really well..not much drama which is nice. They worked hard and never really complained. Its fun to look back and see how God provides for us in huge ways and in small ways. One way i was totally thankful for was a small way. My cellphone decided to die on me one day. It wouldn't charge or respond to anything i tried. So i was like great i have no phone for the rest of the week (this being tuesday). But one of the girls in my house was like i have my old phone with me if you want to use that. She had brought her older more difficult to text phone to hinder her from texting the whole trip but ended up not using it...so instead i used it for the next day and half. I plugged in my phone just to see and left it alone til that next evening.

Colorado mission trip

So tomorrow morning we head up to Supieror Colorado. There we will stay until friday evening. We go up here and hang out with Kevin a church planter there and we help out the community. Last year be put a sprinkler system in and the summer before that we painted TONS of fence. Not really sure what all we will be doing this year but am exicted to go back. Concerned about the cold a little. It should be fun. Andrew is also going so we get a fun hard working week together. I know he is looking forward to the break from his class. I will not be near a computer most days so i say good bye for a week and wish you all well! Hope you have a fun filled week whether it be your spring break or not. :) ttfn :)

One month until...

It seems really hard to believe that we only have one more month til we get married! Everyone keeps asking if i am stressed out and i am not. I am enjoying the planning and the picking out cool stuff. I have been trying not to be focused only on that one day. Remembering that even though it is a lot to do it still is just one day of our lives together. Its the start of US. So monday night Andrew and i had a fun restful night. We ate at Molly's, a burger place right down the road from my house, then we played our favorite board games, Settlers and Sequence. He ALWAYS beats me in Settlers and I ALWAYS beat him in Sequence. In one month I will be sharing everything. In one month my best friend will be living with me. (too cliche?) In one month i will have a reason to cook breakfast each morning. In one month i will do two peoples laundry and LOVE IT!!! (if you know me that is totally true!!) In one month i will no longer say my house but our house. (even though i do sometimes now) hah

Revive

This past friday andrew and i got to serve together in a non youth fashion. Our church as a program that reaches out to special needs children and families. On sunday mornings we have a class just for them. So the families can worship and go to teams. Another great opportunity for families with special needs children is our Revive night. Its a babysitting night to give the parents a date night or a restful night. I was a little hesitant at first cause i just have never been around these great children much and if someone isn't communicating clearly with me i feel out of place and awkward. (a issue i work on) It was a wonderful night....Andrew was with a boy whos bottom half of his legs were gone but totally congnitave and age active. So they 'ran' around and played all night long. Andrew was poopted at the end of the night. I had a little girl about 8 who was a twin and special. She didn't talk much until she got frustrated and wanted me to either peel the back off a st

Jealousy!

So my sister lovingly sent me a picture of her back yard covered in SNOW yesterday! It was so beautiful! I mean real snow real inches and real school closings. I miss that about living in Texas. In Virginia we don't always get great snow storms like this one, but our odds are so much greater. :) I remember my senior year in high school and college were both hugh snow years. It was so fun! I have some really great memories! Debbie sent pictures of the kids playing in it i have to share cause i miss them and i hate that i don't get to spend fun time with them! I am super excited they all are coming out here for the wedding though! SO FUN!! First one is Maria sledding, Noah with their new dog Fifi, Sarah, and then lil Max! SO CUTE ALL OF THEM!!!

Dnow

We just had our yearly DNOW weekend. It was an amazing weekend of great worship time. Great music and great speaking. If you have not checked out Nick Thurmond Band you need to...so good! As one of the student pastors i of course am zapped of all energy for this week now that its done. Its like you start wednesday preparing and dont' stop until sunday after lunch. I was so exhausted that when lunch was done, all i wanted was to sit with Andrew. Thankfully he was accomodating. It was a restful afternoon. So now we get the excitement from the weekend. Hopefully students heard the truth and it got tucked away into their hearts and if it is not shown today but in the future God's glory will be shining! www.nickthurmond.com
