SO excited to say we have finished one of our first projects for our house! About a month ago i blogged about us going to ikea to get some shelves and legs for a desk, for a cubby in our front room. Andrew was going to make the desk top from scratch and i got something to put decorations on and it will open the front room! So excited!! tis done!! :) I paused for a second to capture the moment :) Andrew making sure the shelves are level and below is our supervisor. She runs a tight ship but i think we did it all to her liking! We finished it today will all the decor and the cork boards. Yesterday we fixed the desk top. Thanks to his Dad for helping us cut the wood and drill the cord holes! We are very thankful!

In my quest to be a wonderful chef and house wife to Kimmel. I am trying all sorts of recipes and love finding out how things are made. I have now accumulated about 5 cookbooks that i go to for dinner, one of which is the Slower Cooker Book Kimmel's great grandma gave me at my family shower! So many great recipes i have shared many on here with the blog world :) A few months back Andrews' parents and sister went to visit Mimi, we were unable to join them, she so sweetly gave them a recipe for me to have. With all my grandparents gone i LOVE all the little thoughtful things she does! I told Kimmel we HAVE TO VISIT HER SOON!! She is a lovely lady and we are thankful for her. But i digress. The recipe is easy. Simply 5 ingredients you blend together and let it set and get cold. It was REALLY sweet, and i might play around with it by adding either carmel, nutella or hazelnut. My sis recommended i get like 4 smaller containers/crust and play around with it. When i have loads of time

There are times in life when music just hits the spot. Like emotionally or spiritually. They are singing what i feel, or what i can't put into words. The album that is doing that for me now is Shane and Shane, Everything is Different. They all are AWESOME but number 3 & 4 are really speaking to me and Kimmel right now. Its funny cause we got in the car and he was like 'this is my favorite right now (plays #3) and i blare it every time i hear it!' He wasn't kidding about blaring it haha. Then i shared with him my fave which followed right after. A friend of ours (Josh Balogh) gave us the CD a while back and it just wasn't really listened to until the past few months and it is the perfect time of course! This morning i asked God to allow me to see his glory all day long and be in awe of it. For starters His glory is all around me but i am to busy or blind to see it that is why i asked for this. I was sitting at our kitchen table looking out of one of the 6 glorious windows we have in there and could see the sun rise- glory. What was surprising though while i sat and watched a small lil humming bird flew up to a flower bush (dont' know what it is) out side one of the windows then on to a rose bush further away- glory. Time seemed to stop as i noticed it, the small wings, the long beak and him just hovering by the plants. INCREDIBLE!! Thanks dad please please let me see more. He reminds me over and over again in the small things how BIG he is. How everyday He is communicating its just am i paying attention! Pray that we all take in every drop of today and see Him in it all!

Kimmel starts teaching tomorrow. His very own class of middle schoolers. Math is the subject and excitement his is energy. Friday night i went with him to set up the small amount of posters and things he has. The teacher who had the old room had not finished talking all her stuff yet. I offered to box it all up but he wouldn't let me. :) After i had done all i could do for him...i began to play with my camera...taking pictures of the room and anything i could find. One of the things he keeps in his office, along with a picture of us and calendar, is a chess set. His sister Paige gave it to him years ago when she went to vietnam. It is special to him, and made for a great subject of my picture taking practicing obsession. See picture below, this is one of several angels and shots. Yes that is my husband running with a shirt that says SEX (do it for the kids) with a dad and son holding hands. He got that years ago and loves it. We were exercising with our neighbors and of course i had my camera...was hoping to get some sun setting pictures. This turned out cute i think. :) He doesn't like his rosy cheeks but i think its cute. of course i edited it and added the name thru Picnik.com -its a fun site. So i wanted to share!

Last night i went with some friends to see Jack Johnson in Dallas!! We purchased these tickets the day they opened...i believe our friends got them on PRESALE!!! :) I have been waiting for this fun night for a while and was super excited! Figured out monday morning night that Kimmel wasn't going to be able to join us due to football practice that didn't get out til 7ish. So i bummed a ride with my friends and we headed to dallas to eat and see the show. We don't go to dallas really at all, we prefer fort worth downtown, so it was nice to do something different. We ate at this great restaurant/bar place called Angry Dog. We got burgers, and chicken sandwich that was DELICIOUS! The crew i was with were not get there super early so you don't miss anything even the crummy opening band people, so we arrived late in my book :). Our seats were awesome, but i couldn't take in my camera! They guy peered into my purse and said ma'am you're gonna have to check that. At

This weekend our church has had a guest speaker, Kevin Leman. He is a well known author and shrink (he said it!) who deal with marriage and raising kids. Last night he spoke about marriage and sex. Just stating some facts about men and women and then about the affect the sexual temperature in a marriage affects all in the family! its some great stuff. My favorite thing he talks about is the 'birth order' of your family. How everyone will follow similar patterns according to their birth order. Its incredible. Personality stuff intrigues me cause i see the creativity of God in that, and then add on the fact that the order in which you entered your family has a shaping hand in it shows God's order of things. Amazing! We purchased two of his books 'birth order' and the 'sheet music'. (I have several friends that received this book as a wedding gift, or purchased it shortly after the honeymoon- they say its wonderful!) I have some reading to do!!

So i took my friend sherry and her girls to the Botonical Gardens for some picture taking. She just had a lil baby girl and has two older girls, 9 and 7. They were sweet and fun considering the elements we were in. It was 102 degrees!!! We had a lot of fun and i am learning loads! I want to shadow someone who takes pictures professionally...do that that's possible? :) oh and i edited this first one on Picnik. :)

I been thinking a lot lately about friends and family. Just how we all communicate, think and treat each other. How they say you can pick your friends but not your family. Sometimes i am not sure how i picked 'that' friend or if they picked me. Then i over analyze relationships to think how have i made this a good friendship? Do i put in what they want or not enough? I really don't remember having much drama with friends growing up. Unless i was just so blind to notice. I wonder what people really think about me. Sometimes i catch a glimpse of a facial expression or a comment that causes me to think, Oh no they think i am an idiot, or Oh no i am annoying them. To which i quickly shut down and decide not to annoy. I like my friends. I have lots of different friends and each is at a different stage of friendship. Some i wish were deeper than others, some are growing easily and i don't have to work at it. Many are spread out in Va, GA, and now CO. A couple of my friends fe

So as mentioned earlier i purchased a canon CAMERA not literal cannon and i am loving it! Its been fun trying to figure all the settings out and lighting...and i am SO still learning and excited about it. There is so much i need to know..i am was going to take a class somewhere but someone told me that i could youtube it and learn just the same, for free :) so for my pleasure i am posting my first attempts at flow shots hahahaa

So this summer has been HOT!! We have been in the triple digits the past two weeks! No bueno! If you have any cold air stored up that you would like to send us please do! Ft Worth Texas!

We helped some friends move to Colorado this past week. Meet some of their friends and one had a lil boy about their daughters age, who was super cute, and Andrew was 'talking' to him and the mom said " Oh he likes you" to which i commented, 'all babies like him'. They do! Its really sweet, something i think his granddad and dad passed down to him. Can't wait for our own for him to love on!

Sometimes i feel like an actual life situations explains how you feel about your reality. We purchased a refurbished canon for me to start playing with :) and it is due tomorrow. I arrived home to a sticker on my front door saying that the FeEx person had come by to deliver 'the package' and my signature is necessary for it to be left, so they shall try again tomorrow. -no time mentioned- Reality sometimes feels like you know you ordered, want, desire how ever you want to put it, something, someone, some object. For some reason unknown to you, you missed it. Or so that is what 'they' say. You rack your brain as to what is wrong with you, what did i do wrong and how could i have not thought to prepare for this. You respond. This is not really about anything in my life...just reality, whether its a red light your sitting at putting you 3 mins more later than you already were or the line at the grocery store you picked is uber slow....or quite the opposite its super fast

Sunday after church Kimmel and I went to IKEA with his family. We have had some ideas in our minds of what we need for the house and what we like. It was SOOO busy. I got really overwhelmed it was kind of like when i went shopping one christmas day with my mom years ago...NEVER again did i or will i!! I am not sure if my brain couldn't process what i was doing, all the people and to process each display room to see if we liked it or not. shewy :) This picture is from a design website....we have a small cubbie in our front room/office that i thought would fit. So we bought these parts...soon we will have a table top and our cubbie will look similar to this! Kimmel found this chair while we were there and he loved it so we got it haha Its fun and fits in our living room. It was a crazy trip, that went really well.
