Survey Says

Image
Growing up i enjoyed watching Family Feud. It was fun trying to guess what they were and the hosts were funny! Surveys are kind of interesting to me. We do 'surveys' at work to see how an event went or what the students want to learn about to help give us guidance in our planning. but aren't surveys dependent on emotion. We used to do a food 'survey' here as a fund raiser. Kraft or some company brought stuff in and we held a taste test that the participants tasted all sorts of cookies, chips or granola. They had all sorts of questions about how it looks, feels, taste. Sometimes if you aren't in the mood you won't answer fully you just quickly to get thru it. I have currently some how stumbled up an email survey thing that gives you 'credit' to purchase things from their stores if you answer their surveys. Its about all sorts of stuff from paper products at work to grocery shopping. I just click answers and get $ for it. I was just wondering how much

love is...

In our student group time we talked about LOVE. We read the passage everyone know about love. It's read at weddings, funerals and ring ceremonies around the globe and i have heard it multiple times but it was a great refresher for me this week. 1 Corinthians 13:1-13If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal . If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where t

Sunny Days

We are home from a 4 day vacation! It was delightful! Mom came with us we drove after church to the Gulf Shores of Alabama. The oil situation left for some interesting 'droppings' on the shore that weren't too much of a bother all the boats were loud though. It was a total of 12 of us in the house. We had gotten bumped up to 'first class' the week before due to the fact of people backing out of their weeks cuase of the oil. So we got an ocean front house with a private beach! The house may have been filled to the brim but the ocean and beach was ours alone! It was relaxing and we got to eat some good seafood! (well i did at least he got chicken!) One night andrew, mom, me and two of his cousins went crab hunting :) found 3! Think this is the pic of two of them...but i swear we got three!

One room down...

So its been almost a month now in the new house and i have finally finished repainting and decorating the kitchen! It was so worth it. The previous owner had a very yellow almost mustard on the walls and lighter yellow on ceiling that i wanted to cover for sure! I primed the whole thing while we moved in over memorial day weekend. The task was just way to huge for me to finish off the color i wanted. I had to find the correct curtains and make everything tie in together! So glad it all worked out and now i have one room down! Have to have the beach flair! So excited we are going to Gulf Shores alabama for the next week! Just not sure how close the oil is...but i can report back to ya so you know how close it truly is! :) I have three other rooms that i will eventually change around but the next thing on my list is the master bath...it is too white! Funny story...went to walmart and purchased paint....picked out two really great colors...the person mixed it wrong and it was like 4 shade

Slow Cooker Recipe #3

Thanks to my iPhone i have a fun lil app called 'CrockPot' that i get some yummy recipes from. One that has been a huge hit is the 'Like Grandma's Chicken and Dumplings'. I was intrigued b/c like the title says, my grandmother made the BEST chicken and dumplings so i was like no way it could be this good. So i tried it. Its simple, yummy and oh so close to my grandmas! Enjoy! 2 cups chicken (i thaw from morning til like 1pm and cut....or you can put in whole and shred as you serve) Can cream of mushroom soup Can cream of chicken soup 21 1/2 oz water 2 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 8 buttermilk biscuits, canned Mix all ingredients except biscuits in slow cooker cut biscuits into quarters and stir into mixture cover and cook on low for 4-6 hrs. Sunday evening we had a church picnic. Tons of people out at the park, a bunch of our youth playing ultimate frisbee and soccer both of which andrew played and i chatted with friends. After a while i was walking away from the soccer field and i hear my whistle and my name...to see my husband waving at me while walking towards me. I noticed something was wrong with his neck...he had tweaked it. So we go home, we sit around with our friends across the street until he can bear it no more...we go home and try to sleep...he tosses and turns, i ask if he wants to go to the ER but he didn't. When i woke up at like 6am he said can we call the dr. So i did and got an afternoon aptmt. Doc said his muscles were spasming. That he could have done nothing and this might of happened. Our theory is that he hasn't had a chance to just rest once school let out. Camp last week he was playing all the games and then some so his body is like LET ME REST DUDE!!! :) He now has muscle relaxers and pa

Not sure if your tv has been stuck on a channel with a whirring noise constantly going but ours is :) thankfully we have been able to get our tv stuff all set up and Kimmel is set up in front of the TV watching the games. Nice thing about DVR is he can watch them at his liesure...it was cute cause saturday morning he was all excited to watch the games and he got up around 730 to watch it, i stayed in bed. Around 9ish i woke up and was like what is that noise and where is kimmel? Went out to the living room and he was asleep on the couch with the game going! :) USA is still in the tourney...we shall see! :)

Picture fun!

Resting on a saturday morning, checking email and making the blog fresh and new i wasted about an hour figuring out how to do collages :) This one is kind of remembering 2010 so far...all the fun stuff we did. With a fun wedding picture thrown in of course! (i am obsessed!) Its been a great year so far and excited to see what else is gonna happen.

Wired and Tired

We are back home from a long great week of camp! Today has been a laundry, rest set up internet day haha but so glad it is working! Beckham seemed a bit like she missed us...always sitting by us either on the couch, table or desk. She is funny. This will be short my eyes are closing as i type. Thanks for the prayers...camp was incredible...i got to baptize a girl in the bath tub...i only wish i had taken a pic of it...we didn't have major drama...a good amount of kids laying down idols...some that were in the form of relationships ...tough good stuff! more later...but so glad to be wired!

disconnected...

So this past week or so i have been disconnected from internet at our new home...we have not gotten our internet connected yet...due to the fact that our new house is in a bubble of nothing but dish can be purchased there...i will not go on my rant about that...(verizon fios is amazing and i can't get it ) All that to say i have been disconnected from the blog world and email and its strange...i feel like i miss something...next week is camp and i will be disconnected again another week. :( hopefully when we get back on friday AT &T will have delivered the modum and we will be all hooked up. Until then please pray for me and the staff as we go to Camp this next week. Please Pray that the students will actually listen and that God will reveal a little more of himself to them! Thanks

closing a chapter

So yesterday morning i went to the empty town home to give it a good clean and double check to make sure we got everything out of it. We had turned the a/c off so i kept the doors open to try and circulate a breeze...but a wasp blew in and i had to change my plan! It stayed a lovely 85 degrees in side...with the ceiling fans trying to cool me down a bit :) After dumping our vaccum like 10 times for the upstairs, and washing all the windows it hit me..the sadness. This was the place i picked out 5 years ago. My mom and i were talking and realized that it was memorial day weekend exactly that i had moved in...kinda cool :) As i looked around and saw it empty and bare i began to tear up and remembered alot of great things that happened here. It is the closing of my single life completely...which is a GREAT thing but i was sadder than i thought! I had picked out the floor plan, the tile, crapy carpet, and watched it be 'born' for me to live in. There was one thing i remembered sayi
