crazy week leads to a crazy weekend

So glad we are moving...but it has been one crazy week! :) My mom flies in this morning and she gets to be apart of the festivities of moving all the big stuff tomorrow. We are going to finish off the kitchen together and have it ready for all the cooking and food galore :) Have pictures soon...so tired i haven't taken any.

moving

Well friday as mentioned before we closed on our new house. It was a nice day that started off with Chickfila mini's and a huge sleep over. Sunday Andrew got focused and hard working...he said i want to pack the kitchen...so that he did! Whistling while we worked :) The top picture is his number labeling that matched boxes...so i would know what was in each box! He soo good :) It was a successful day and i was able to take two car loads over to the new house after work today. Went by the electrical company and set that up, called the water and got that working...we will be up and running tomorrow! We hope to be completely in by saturday! So the journey begins...

Busy Bees

I always feel like i am saying 'We are busy this weekend!' BUT we are....we have now hit the wedding and baby shower season of life...we have like 3 of Andrew's friends getting married and then like 4 former students getting married and i can't go to all of them!On thursday Kimmel and i helped his best friend (and one of mine too if we are honest here!) propose to a WONDERFUl girl...we are so excited for them both. I had to drive the lovely maddie 40 mins to a special spot and i must say myself we got her there without knowing ANYTHING! she was totally surprised and the Engagement went of without a hitch. After kimmel and i set them up we finally saw each other and i was shaking and he was so relieved. Last night i had some girls from the youth group stay over...15 to be exact. so i kicked Kimmel out to go play with his boys. We had a great night of worship, sharing and just being silly! It was fun!! Today i have a wedding at 3 and then a Couples Shower at 6:30! I told

pretty pony

Andrew and i are in the process of purchasing a house. Due to this i am packing and unpacking, going thru boxes of life. I found this toy my mom had saved for me, My Pretty Pony. A bigger Pony from my lil pony company. It is kind of raggedy and obviously old but i don't want to get rid of it. Will our children ever play with it? you might ask...I am thinking no. The ears are gone that used to move, and the hair is just nasty. So why don't i get rid of it?? Cause it was mine when i was little, and my mom has instilled this nasty thing called pack rat sentimentality, and i can't get rid of it. (sometimes sin feels that way) So all that to say i am struggling with the packing and unpacking and the throwing away...its my life that he is asking me to sort and throw away...but if my life ended none of this junk would be fun for him..it would be a burden! ALRIGHT ALRIGHT already i will get rid of it :)

pullin weeds

So today after my 3 hrs in the office (part time hrs :))i went to target to get some groceries, ate lunch, and realized i was feeling a bit icky. Like something was wrong...a coworker had asked me earlier 'what was wrong with me cause your being weird susan'.... not sure what that is.... so i laid down a bit to relax, we had a fun big event last night for our students so i was tired....it was our annual Lip Sync that raises money for missions, either across the sea or in our backyard. Each 'team' or small group performs to a 3.5 min song or montage of songs for 1st place. It was an idea spun from a desire one of our girls three years ago. Do something fun and raise money! So after laying down for a bit, i went to check the mail...and i saw that our yard had some weeds...so i stopped to pull them. As i was the breeze was blowing on me...cooling me off...and i realized there were birds chirping around me...like 4 or 5 of em. :) It was a nice moment with the creation of ou

Midnight Movies

How much do you love your husband? So much that you would give up something to be with him and do something he loves? Oh yeah! Hopefully we ALL do that at some time or another. For me it has been Midnight Movies! Sounds like don't throw me in the briar patch but really i hate seeing any movie starting after 9!! it just gets me too tired! Andrew on the other hand is a more free spirit when it comes to time and movies....he loves movies more than i do. He would rent a movie every night if i 'let' him. I get annoyed with that much time being sucked up from my life! hahaha so i know seeing a movie or renting one is speaking his love language...i would rather play a game or talk of course! :) We saw Ironman 2 last thursday night and last night we saw Robin Hood. Both were excellent movies and i will be purchasing them for him. Although i get burned out from movies every night i do like to watch the same ones over and over :) You need to go see them...i give them 2 thumbs up!

View from the Balcony

One of my favorite things about our town house is the balcony. Many special moments have been had between me and Dad there, and tonight i watched as his handwork was displayed thru the sunset.

Wedding Weekend

As i type this my husband sleeps his sunday afternoon nap. He is soooo good at napping...me not so much...i tried! cause i am tired due to the busy weekend, but to no avail. So i write this post instead. Andrew's sister got married yesterday. It was a beautiful May evening wedding in the front yard of their Aunt's house. Her father spent all day wednesday, thursday and friday working on the house and the special details his daughter desired. I got to help on friday, and i found something i may try to do for our house...curtain making! haha They purchased drop cloths from home depot that were pretty! (crazy i know! but trust me!) One of my tasks was to make curtains to hide the garage....i simply cut fabric to the size of the window and hot clued it shut for a curtain rod. Easy as pie....thus my creative juices begun and i am thinking i should have done this or what if i did that..:) sadly no pictures...my mind was else where. We are excited to see all the pictures that were t

Languages

Through out my life and yours i am sure, you have been asked "what super hero trait would you have if you could have any?" Some may think, oh definitely fly, or walk thru walls or maybe be invisible. But over the year for me as i live thru life and experience more things and cultures, my super hero talent would be to speak and understand any language in existence and if a new one is created i figure it out! The first time i did mission over seas was to Japan. One morning at 4am i woke up (we were staying in the church in the city) to use the toilet and there were like 8-10 people in the sanctuary praying in their own dialect. African, Vietnamese, Japanese and English. That trip to the toilet was a life changing one for me...cause at that moment i realized GOD understood each person! He knew their heart, thoughts AND words! Now when i go to Mexico i know a little Spanish, but not enough to really talk to anyone and it frustrates me...not enough to do anything about it apparent

5 Ingredients

Christmas 2007 my mom gave me a cookbook. Taste of Home's 5-Ingredient Cookbook. It has taken til now for me to use it :) But i have found some really easy (obviously) and yummy dishes! I want to share with you! One of my commitments this past few weeks has been to wake up with Andrew and cook breakfast so we can have a few mins. to start the day off together cause our evenings are so hectic. We both love breakfast food so its fun! I grew up eating french toast pretty regular, if not weekly it was every other week! It was one of the first things my mom taught me to fix on the stove! Its a fave of mine! So when i came accross this receip for french toast BAKE i was curious. It was really good! I am putting notes of things i am going to add to the 5 to add a bit of flavor! :) Maple French Toast Bake 12 slices bread, cubed 1 package (8oz) of cream cheese, cubed 8 eggs 1 cup of milk 1/2 cup maple syrup Arrange half the bread cubes in a greased shallow 2-qt. backing dish. Top with the c

Virginia in a blur

Image
So friday i flew back to Virginia to visit with my mom and sister. It was a quick trip friday to sunday. Ran into the lead pastor of our church in the airport...and we were on the same flight! haha so we talked for a bit then he upgraded me to first class. This is the leg room i had! Home was good..a blur but fun! My two nephews had soccer games saturday morning and then sunday the youngest niece had her first communion. My sister's husband and family is catholic, so they have adopted that for their children as well. It is interesting how they do first communion, and i like how the children go thru a class to understand Jesus and what he did, kind of cool! After that i headed back home...andrew did not get to come cause TAKS test were friday and we had bought the tickets a while back to get a great price....so we lost his cause he would have been written up and docked pay! WHATEVER TAKS!! :)
