Where your treasure is....is home!

We bought the field! :)


Really long story about a really crazy thing we have done...i will deliver it in doses. But for now i am proud to say we found a treasure (future family heritage) and we purchased the field... well 13 acres to be exact! Its only 7 mins from highway 35 and 10 mins from Denton and then 30 from Keller. It sits at the end of a long country road that dead ends into a field, so no highways or main roads coming thru and messing it up! Great googile moooglie we did it! 



Kimmel found it on line back in November and we feel in love with it we had to go see it. We drove out there and instantly i could see where our house was to sit. I knew right then and there it would take a miracle for us to do this.  Thats when God smiled and said wait and see my daughter...i have something great planned. When we were excited and talking about whether or not we should/could do this Matthew 13:44 kept coming thru my mind. 

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

And yes i know this is about salvation being the treasure and selling all to gain that but what can i say its what was laid on my heart. The treasure we see is our family building, growing and learning out on this land for generations to come.  It is a really awesome story how God picked and saved this land for us! Can't wait to share with you all. 


So we have sold my car, rented out our house, and moved in with the Kimmels to purchase and then save to build. You may think us crazy but we don't mind. We will have a dream place in a couple of years and it will be fun doing it all!

As mentioned in the last entry of this blog i bragged about how Dad is taking care of me and just making things light and easy and fun for the wedding. Yesterday Andrew and i went and took pictures with a friend of ours. And she took us to the grapevine train station, a field, a strange house, and to the lake where he proposed. We laughed, kissed, hugged, laughed and tried to stay warm. It was so much fun! Ellie was a bit nervous cause the temperature was like in the 50's. But the sun and sky was perfect so she said if we were game she was game. So we did! Ended up with like 200 pics....she wittled them down and gave me 160 some. They are all sooo good...it was hard to pick my fave. I am so thankful for her, her talent and her willingness to do this with us! I may put a link to the folder...but not sure just how....so bear with me! :)

Drills

So the past few wednesdays i have been blessed to 'tutor' 1st graders with reading. Its so easy and it goes by so quick. My husband teaches middle school and has stories galore about the craziness of them and their families. Somethings could be prevented and most is just cause people need Jesus and need to seek after him. Yesterday as we were tutoring they had an 'extreme weather drill'. where everyone calmly goes out in the hall, turn toward the wall sit on their knees and bend over like a ball with their hands on the back of their heads. one teacher said its easier to keep learning with a broken hand than head so keep your hands over the back of your head. The only drills i remember are the fire drills, where you go outside and stand in a line and pretend to watch your school burn down. I have never lived anywhere that they drill for earthquakes or extreme weather...have you? What drills did you do as a yungen?

Photo shoot with Mabry Family

This past saturday was my first official photo shoot, meaning not really close friends, was really nervous to do it. Andrew came with me and was my voice of direction. I picked the same spot a friend of ours took our engagement pictures, main street Grapevine. We went a bit early to the spot and marked some places we thought would work, and talked out what positions might be good. With his strong voice he commanded them into spots! :) It was fun and the weather was perfect for it. Andrew had gotten me a new lens in time for the shoot so i was super pumped and so thankful it made it in time. There were a couple times that i forgot to change the setting and was like OH NO! Let's try that again!  I think they like it and are happy with it. A mutual friend has already asked me to take pics of her and her hubby. Now i am just waiting for my label to be created so i can look even more official! This is a fun hobby that i am excited to chase after! Click Here for more pics
