It was about nine months ago Kimmel's boss at Mr Jim's suggested we try using lavender and coconut oil for Shepherd's eczema. He has a diffuser in the office and his wife is a distributor, and he highly recommended the oils. So we got the lavender to try and also peppermint to help with headaches. About three months after that a friend invited me to a oil's party and all that i learned at the party just caused the desire to incorporate them into our lives grew. At the time, with everything going on in our life it just wast time to invest. The interest has really blossomed over the past year and many people sharing loads of info. Last night Kimmel converted Shepherd's crib into the toddler bed. We had some pieces missing so the boys went to Home Depot to get some extra parts. I think Shepherd's help may have stressed Kimmel out a bit, but better him than me stressing Kimmel out :) He likes to joke that if 'we need to work on our marriage we hang, build or put together something' I don't know what he means by that! :) We decided to change it cause he has tried to climb out, but not successfully. Twice i found him after nap laying on the top of the crib straddling the side. Also wanted to do this now so when we move in a couple months the house will be the only change he has to handle.  He laid down and as i took his picture he put the old phone to his eyes and said cheese. haha i think we take a lot of pictures of him with our phones.  It was sweet to see his little head over the top of our couch as he walked in from his nap. Maybe my parents should have named me Patience, maybe that would have made more since in my life. Especially now with our dream home. We were not in a HUGE hurry but we had our time line in our minds. We are coming to the end of said time line and it seems like everything kept going wrong and now we wait. I don't really want to share all that has happened as of yet....cause i think i  might cry again :) Do you ever watch those HGTV shows about renovations like Love it or List it, and the Property Brothers? Do you ever laugh at the ladies as they get all emotional and bent out of shape because of one SMALL thing that they can't have or went wrong? Yea me to...before our building process.  It is super stressful and you take it personal when they look at you and say we can't do this or that. With each cut back i am thinking "oh no they are not taking my hardwood floor!" Oh yes they did when they took more out of our budget. Well now we wait for some paper work...

For this week our boys are 2 months and 2 years old! Same number! Thought that was kind of fun :) Its fun starting back over with Asher and taking delight in all the little things and growth milestones. Most of my knowledge of pop culture and hollywood comes from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. I record him and watch the next day while the boys sleep. This past week he had Jessica Alba on and she talked about a tv show she is in, mother hood, and a company she started- The Honest Company.  She talked about when she became a mom she wanted to give the 'cleanest' life to her daughter. It started her on a journey to create diapers, wipes, cleaners and so on that are chemical free. They are plant based and economical. This i had to see for myself if it truly was economical, so i went to the website to check it out. Each friday Opa watches Eleanor our niece and Shepherds 'buddy'.  Since we live with Opa at this time Shepherd gets to hang with them. He gets so excited and happy when she is here. It is a special day for them both! Her name was the first real big word he 'said' and it was so cute. Yesterday was a bit warmer so we went out to the sandbox Opa made over the summer. Kimmel is pretty close with his family and cousins. Growing up they had a 'cousin's week', where they went to Grandparents house and had a project to work on among other fun stuff, best of all no Parents! Of course now they live all over texas but when ever they have a reunion or holiday get togethers its like a fun party. My family has not really hung out since my grandma passed away back in the late 90's, so its kind of nice to visit his extended family.  I have some great memories with a few of my cousins when i was younger, its just when we all get older and stuff we loose ...

Today kimmel and i made the trek to IKEA to get my kitchen sink! It's a pretty big deal! We drove out there before christmas only to be told that they 'over sold' that particular sink and didn't have any more in stock.  They told us to check on line and come back. Since we couldn't order it on line, i kept checking and yesterday they had 3 in stock. Today 14! Found the kitchen area and asked a nice lady to help me acquire this sink! 5 mins later we were paid in full and heading back out the maze to pick up my sink!! Its a smaller apron sink or farm house sink. Perfect for our new lil kitchen! I am super excited and a great way to start the year! After the crazy month we just had this was a sigh of relief to get into the garage! This last month should have been called the roller coaster month.
